Manuela Girone and Francesco Di Tommaso, wife and husband are the founders and creative force behind Mela Jewelry.
Handmade in Southern Italy by the duo in person, the highest quality raw organic materials such as pearls, gemstones, and silk are used to craft the artisanal designs. Uniquely made to match each woman’s character, no two pieces are alike. Simple yet delicate, the jewelry evokes a sense of refined luxury. Bespoke creations are the standard , with compositions made to match a client’s specific style and character. In the team’s studio in Bari, the daily experimentation of materials is a constant process and “a playful game of combinations and contrasts in continuous evolution”. Each piece is the result of a four-hand assembly line, and in a world that increasingly pushes towards mass production their craft is an artisanal treasure they intend to preserve. The combination of rope, pearls and gemstones that dance in the light is supernatural to the point of fusion, as if it were retrieved from the seabed in one piece Vittoria, their daughter, joined the team bringing her fresh vision full of colors and nuances.
